Seasons Greetings from TCI!

As you're aware, The Collective Identity Mentoring is a comprehensive program that provides 360 degrees of support. A critical part of our program includes "level-ups." We created these exercises to ensure that our youth are beginning their career path and goals with a solid foundation; and that they are headed in an upwards trajectory with the guidance of their mentors. Each level-up is designed to help our participants with their LinkedIn page, resume, and more. 

Last Friday, The Collective Identity Mentoring held its first-ever in-person networking event for our mentees. We provided each TCI youth a linked QR code to their LinkedIn profiles. The TCI girls had the opportunity to network outside social media and meet prominent, successful community members. Seeing our girls engage and network with community leaders was a true honor. A special thanks to all who came out to meet and network with the TCI team, mentees, and mentors.

We had an excellent turnout, and I want to thank everyone who attended; our participants enjoyed meeting you. For those who couldn’t participate, I’m happy to share some pictures from our event- and we will hopefully see you at the next TCI event!

Building a nonprofit organization (NPO) from scratch isn't easy, and the TCI team has had its share of ups and downs, but through all the obstacles, we preserved. We continued on this challenging path because we knew that our work was critical for the success of the next generation of Black women, and for that reason alone, we had to keep going—- and we’re glad that we did because these young people are worth it!

We couldn't have made it this far without your support. Please accept our heartfelt thanks! As we're bringing 2022 to a close, this is the time of year most when of us are reviewing our end of philanthropic interest, goals, and next steps toward a more equitable future. As a Black-led organization, the support from our community is vital for our success, as most Black-led organizations do not receive the help they need to thrive. For Black women, activism and philanthropy are bridged by the same desire to support the people they love and resolve issues that impact their families and communities.
