Jessica Akintunde holds a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from University of Southern California and brings a deeply rooted passion for empowering communities of color through individual and collective healing, nontraditional enrichment programming, advocacy, and social justice. Her work is grounded in a commitment to helping Black and Brown youth thrive through holistic, culturally responsive support systems.

With a strong foundation in both clinical practice and program management, Jessica’s experience has primarily centered on serving Black and Brown youth throughout South Los Angeles. Across her various roles, she has provided individual and group counseling to adolescents, developed behavior intervention support models for secondary schools, and designed comprehensive social-emotional wellness programs for nonprofit organizations. Her work consistently bridges direct service, systems thinking, and youth empowerment.

At The Collective Identity, Jessica collaborates closely with the Executive Director to strengthen overall program operations, mentee and mentor development, and team culture. She plays a key role in enhancing program structure by formalizing policies and procedures related to mentee engagement, mentor cultivation, and team management. Jessica also provides ongoing support to both mentees and mentors to help foster meaningful, successful mentoring relationships that are rooted in trust, growth, and accountability.

Her expertise in curriculum and training design further strengthens TCI’s impact. Jessica develops and delivers technical curriculum trainings for educators and facilitators, offering continuous coaching and support to enhance program delivery. She also leads the creation of leadership and social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum, including lesson plans, facilitator guides, visual aids, and resources that support both staff and student development. In addition, she provides thoughtful project management support for program initiatives and youth-led community efforts, ensuring that vision translates into sustainable impact.

While this only captures a snapshot of Jessica’s work over the years, her mission remains clear: to inspire, motivate, and empower communities through healing-centered, equity-driven leadership and practice.
