Check Kelly’s Vibe
Kelly Ferguson brings a powerful blend of nonprofit leadership, direct service, and development expertise to her role as an Advisory Board member of The Collective Identity Mentoring. Her career has spanned multiple areas of the social impact sector, from supporting a startup nonprofit that provided free in-home volunteer childcare for low-income women pursuing associate and bachelor’s degrees, to advancing the work of an organization in Massachusetts that pairs youth in foster care with long-term adult mentors. Her work consistently reflects a deep commitment to expanding access, opportunity, and long-term support for historically underserved communities.
With strengths in fundraising, communications, marketing, operations, administration, sales, and volunteer recruitment, Kelly is passionate about leveraging resources and relationships to drive meaningful impact. Her work is grounded in diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice, with particular focus on racial equity, LGBTQ+ advocacy, immigrant communities, youth empowerment, and the advancement of women and girls.
Kelly is currently in law school pursuing her Juris Doctor degree, further strengthening her dedication to advocacy, justice, and systems-level change. Her legal studies complement her passion for creating equitable pathways and building stronger support systems for marginalized communities.
As a proud Advisory Board member, Kelly is honored to support The Collective Identity’s mission of uplifting and mentoring young Black women through intentional community, leadership development, and transformative opportunities. Originally from New England, she enjoys hiking with her partner and her pup Ripley, singing karaoke, and getting lost in a great fiction novel.
